Benitez: Napoli Sia wasted opportunities, Should OK in the Second Leg

Naples – Napoli Allenatore Rafael Benitez seemed reluctant to blame the referee although judging Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk goal was offside. He focused on the opportunities wasted Napoli and cautioned that addressed in the second leg next week.

Playing at home in the party’s Europa League semi-final first leg, on Friday (08/05/2015) pm dawn, Napoli had to be satisfied with the final result 1-1 after Yevhen Seleznyov scored in the 80th minute delete host advantage on goals by David Lopez the beginning of the second half.

Equalizing goal position of Dnipro himself had protested the Napoli players who vote offside. Benitez agreed with the assessment of the players although it would not make any excuses because his team has a lot of wasted opportunity.

“Their goal was offside and incidents like this clearly alter the results of the game and also the complexity of the semi-final,” said Benitez told Sport Mediaset and quoted by Football Italia.

“Whatever, we had opportunities and did not maximize them. Now we have to win in the away match, but we must be faster and more accurate as well in the second half today.”

“I had expected a tight match like this because Dnipro formidable team and neat. We had a number of opportunities to make goals and Dnipro scored in the only clean chance.”

“In the first half we were less nimble and do not invade the empty space, while in the second half we were better and will play the second leg as the face of Wolfsburg. Now we must not complain and just focus into the match in Kiev,” he said.

In a note ESPN, Napoli actually far superior ball possession 70% -30% over the Dnipro. Napoli also releasing 20 shots with seven of them on target, while Dnipro only made two shots on target from five trials.
